Inspiration & Story

Veritas Lunare belongs to The Heirloom Vault, our solid gold and diamond work.

Veritas is truth. Lunare is of the moon. She has been up there through every version of you, the best year and the worst one, and she is not keeping score on either.

Her face is sculpted rather than stamped, eyes half open, expression somewhere between serene and mildly amused, finished by hand after casting so the features hold their depth. The star hangs loose from the tip of the crescent and swings when you move, carrying the diamond low where it catches light as you walk.

This one wears a genuine cognac diamond, warm brown and lit from inside. It is the right stone for yellow gold. A cold white one always sits slightly against the metal. A cognac deepens it instead.

She comes from our Curiosity Cabinet collection, the witchy, celestial world of moons, folklore and small strange objects. In solid gold she belongs to the Vault, and she is part of a 14K gold celestial set with the Domina Lunae ring and the Veritas Stellare earrings.

Crafted using in-house digital and traditional techniques: 3D designing, 3D printing, casting, benchworking, stone setting and hand finishing.

The moon's face was finished by hand after casting, and the star hangs so it swings freely rather than sitting fixed.

Small enough to live on you every day and readable from across a table. She layers easily, sitting on a shorter chain over something longer, and the swinging star means she moves when you do.

Warm brown against yellow gold keeps her in one temperature, so she sits happily in a stack of gold and does not fight anything warm beside her.

What does Ready to Send mean?
This exact pendant is already made and finished. No production time. She ships within 5 working days instead of the 8 to 12 weeks a made to order piece takes.

Can the stone be changed?
Not on this one. The cognac diamond is already set. The made to order version lets you choose your own.

What is a cognac diamond?
A natural diamond in a warm brown colour, coloured by structural features formed as the crystal grew. Same mineral and same hardness as a colourless diamond, at 10 on the Mohs scale.

Does the star move?
Yes. It hangs loose from the tip of the crescent and swings as you walk, which is why the proportions are fixed.

Why 14K gold rather than plated?
Because plating wears through and solid gold does not. A plated piece has a deadline. This one does not.

Does a chain come with it?
Not as standard. She arrives with a faux leather cord, and a gold or sterling silver chain can be added separately.

Will gold tarnish?
No. Solid gold does not tarnish the way silver does. It may pick up a soft surface patina over years of wear, which can be repolished.

What does the moon face mean in jewelry?
The man in the moon became widely popular in Victorian celestial jewelry in the late nineteenth century. A face turns the moon from a symbol into a companion.
