What does Made to Order mean?
A made to order design is created once it is ordered. This means we don't have that piece of jewelry in stock but we create it on command. This means we can offer all sizes and some personalisations to these items of jewelry.
This also revolves in less material use, the planet is happy with us she told us herself.
What does One of a Kind Jewelry mean?
A one of a kind piece of jewelry is made with all the love and respect for the material and you, our clients. There is only ONE piece of these items available in this variation or design.
A made to order piece can be a benchworked creation or a 3D printed creation same as you might find in our made to order collection, but with a different, more exclusive gemstone or finish.
What is benchworking?
Benchworking is the O.G. goldsmithing technique where we use raw materials to create our jewelry from. Either we order recycled material from our wholesaler or we re-cast plate and thread ourselves.
From these raw shapes and forms such as plate, thread, tube etc we solder all of these parts together to create the design of the jewelry.
Is 3D printing handcrafted?
In our view, creating jewelry in 3D is very similar to how a graphic designer creates original, handcrafted artwork. All of our models are fully designed and built by hand in Blender from the first sketch to the final sculpt. So yes, it is handcrafted.
We understand that 3D work can feel like a gray area to some, so we want to be transparent about our process.
There are many pre-made 3D models of complete jewelry pieces available online, but we do not use those to create our designs.
On rare occasions, we may 3D scan (pointcloud) an existing object or we may download a small open-source element (for example a leaf or a skull) when it truly enriches a design we have already created ourselves. We only do this when it adds artistic value and helps keep the overall costs of the piece reasonable, especially for complex designs that would otherwise take many extra hours. We design
But the heart of our work, the concepts, structures, shapes, symbolism, and artistic direction, is always ours, crafted with care and intention.
All 3D designs are created by ourselves, on our own laptop, with our own programs. We do not outsource. Also the printing and lost-wax casting process is done by ourselves. Do onderstand, that with this technique there are a lot of parameters to consider. All of those parameters for the print, the resin, the investment gypsum and the casting temperature have to be just perfect to get perfect casts. It does not make goldsmithing easyer, but it does give us more freedom in design.
Is Silver and Gold jewelry water resistant?
Yes… and no. Sterling silver and gold can handle occasional water exposure (like rain or showering), but frequent or prolonged contact with water ( especially saltwater or chlorine ) will speed up tarnishing and dull the shine. Sterling Silver is prone to tarnishing, Gold, not so much. But salt water and chlorine can affect the other materials in the alloy over time. Do note, that some gemstones are NOT a fan of water at all!
When your jewelry gets wet, always dry it thoroughly and avoid keeping it damp. For long-lasting beauty, we recommend removing your pieces before swimming, bathing, or using pools/jacuzzis.
With every order comes an care sheet + a polishing cloth so you will know how to treat your jewelry with the same passion as your newborn kitten.
Do you create new jewelry from old pieces??
Short answer: YES, WE DO!
But… there are important things to know.
We can rework both silver and gold jewelry, but the process is more complex than simply melting an old ring and casting it into something new.
When it comes to gold:
Reusing gold can make a new piece more affordable, but it’s not a magic solution.
We almost always need to add new gold to ensure the metal is castable and strong enough.
Using only old gold can result in a brittle cast, especially if the gold is:
older than the 1970s
from unknown origins
alloyed with unusual mixes (which used to be common worldwide)
If the cast remains brittle, the gold must be professionally cleaned and refined.
Because this involves health and safety risks, we outsource this step to specialized professionals.
When it comes to silver:
Recasting silver does not make the new piece more affordable.
Silver’s market value is low compared to the labour needed to recast it, so the costs don’t balance out.
However: and this is important
silver recasting is absolutely worth it when the original piece carries emotional value.
In these cases, we can transform a sentimental item into a meaningful new creation while preserving its story.
Do you also work with gold?
Yes we absolutely do.
We work with 14K & 18K white and yellow gold, red gold, and even 19K extra white gold.
These metals allow us to create durable, meaningful pieces that stand the test of time.
At this moment, you won’t find ready-made gold jewelry on our website, but gold pieces are absolutely available.
If you would like a gold design:
We can co-create a custom piece crafted just for you.
You’re welcome to email or DM us to personalise a made-to-order creation.
We choose not to work with gold plating, as it is not durable and doesn’t meet the standards we hold for long-lasting jewelry.
Is a silver engagement/wedding ring a smart choice for durability and longevity?
Short answer: Yes. But, there are a few things you need to know.
The long answer
A silver engagement ring can last a lifetime, as long as you treat the material with care and are open to making small design concessions. Sterling silver is beautiful and strong, but compared to gold, it is the softer metal.
The right choice depends entirely on the design you want.
If your dream ring includes: very dainty prongs, fine, intricate detailing, ora structure that needs extra strength, then we usually recommend (white) gold, or adjusting the design if gold doesn’t fit the budget.
Is wearing jewelry smart with hands-on jobs?
If you work with your hands, we strongly advise removing your ring while working.
This applies to gold as well, but especially to silver.
Your hands are tools. Rings (no matter the metal) will get: scratched, bumped and marked by daily life.
It’s not a matter of if it will happen, but when.
This does not mean silver (and especially gold) breaks easily. It actually requires quite a bit of force to break a silver ring.
But silver does show your life more visibly. It will: roughen up in some areas, polish naturally in others, all because you’re wearing it. We believe this patina has its own charm, your ring evolves with you and tells your story.
And if the ring breaks?
Don’t panic.
Silver (and especially gold) is almost always fixable, and most repairs are straightforward.
What does "core" mean in royalcore, cathedralcore, cottagecore, goblincore etc?
The suffix “–core” is used to describe a distinct aesthetic world — a mood, vibe, or visual identity shaped around a specific theme.
It’s a creative shorthand that tells you instantly what kind of atmosphere or story something belongs to.
You’ve probably seen aesthetics like:
Royalcore — regal elegance, crowns, grandeur, rich fantasy.
Knightcore — fine weaponry, fantasy vibes, tales of old, plated armor vibes.
Cathedralcore — gothic arches, sacred drama, stained glass, haunting beauty.
Cottagecore — soft countryside romance, florals, warmth, slow-living charm.
Goblincore — earthy chaos, moss, mushrooms, trinkets, and the beauty of the imperfect.
Fairycore — ethereal lightness, wings, sparkles, soft magic, and woodland wonder.
These “cores” help define the visual and emotional universe something fits into — through color, symbolism, motifs, or storytelling.
In short:
“Core” = an aesthetic genre that sets the mood, meaning, and world of an item or style.
