Will release on 26/27-09-26 to all visitors of the Duystere Markt Roeselare. Worldwide website release 28-09-26.
Trias Deae Verde belongs to The Heirloom Vault, our solid gold and diamond work, and she carries the witchy language of our Curiosity Cabinet collection into gold.
The name is Latin: trias deae, the triad of the goddess. Verde, green.
A three stone ring is usually read as past, present and future, which is why the layout appears in engagement rings again and again. This one asks to be read the other way. Three is the witch's number: maiden, mother, crone. Three Fates, three phases, three faces of the same thing. Same arrangement, considerably older tradition, and a better fit for the hand it belongs on.
At the centre, an A+ quality green tourmaline, deep forest green and lit from within. Tourmaline is one of the most electrically strange minerals we set: it is pyroelectric and piezoelectric, meaning it generates a charge when heated or put under pressure. Dutch traders in the eighteenth century noticed the stones pulling ash out of their pipes and called them aschentrekker, ash-pullers. A stone that attracts things is a reasonable thing to put in the middle of a ring like this.
Either side, two black sapphires, opaque and matte, which do something a bright stone cannot: they absorb rather than return light, so they read as two dark points holding the green between them. Corundum at 9 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond.
The band is textured rather than smooth, worked so the gold catches light unevenly and reads as something grown or found rather than machined.
Solid 14K gold does not wear away, which is the difference between a ring you own and a ring you replace. We explain it properly in solid gold vs gold filled vs vermeil vs gold plated.
That permanence is the point of her. She is built to be proposed with, or to mark something else entirely. Gold is not an upgrade and it is not a status flex. It is a small permanent gleaming line in the metal of your life that says: this happened, I was here, I made it, and I chose to mark it with something real. Sometimes that is a proposal. Sometimes it is the job you left, the degree that did not pay off, the year you should not have got through and did. A ring does not know the difference, and neither do we. If you want the argument for an engagement ring that looks nothing like the expected one, engagement rings without rules makes it.
Made in our own atelier in the Netherlands, by two people.

This is a One of a Kind creation. There is one of her and she will not be made again in this form. For something built specifically for you, our Custom Realm is where that starts.
Crafted using in-house digital and traditional techniques: 3D designing, 3D printing, casting, benchworking, stone setting and hand finishing.
All three stones were set at the bench by us. The band was textured and finished by hand after casting, so the gold breaks light rather than reflecting it flat.
Style & Wear
Gold, gothic and witchy, for hands marking something.
She sits low for a three stone ring, so there is nothing standing far off the hand to catch on a sleeve, and both flanking stones are corundum at Mohs 9, which makes her considerably tougher than she looks.
Green against yellow gold is a warm, deep combination that comes alive under lamplight and candlelight, which is where most people actually see a ring. The two black sapphires stop it becoming sweet.
She stacks well with a plain gold band, and she carries a room on her own.
Worn for a proposal, a wedding, the end of something that nearly finished you, a milestone nobody else would think to celebrate, or nothing at all.

Questions & Answers
How many stones are in this ring?
Three. A green tourmaline at the centre and a black sapphire at each shoulder.
What does a three stone ring mean?
Usually past, present and future, which is why it appears so often in engagement rings. Read another way, three is the witch's number: maiden, mother and crone, three Fates, three phases of the same thing. Same arrangement, older tradition.
Can this be used as an engagement ring?
Yes, and it works beautifully as one. A three stone setting is one of the most traditional engagement forms there is, and there is no rule requiring a diamond. She is equally at home marking something that has nothing to do with anyone else.
What if I am not buying it for a proposal?
Then you are in good company. Plenty of the gold that leaves this atelier marks something else: leaving the job that made you ill, finishing what you started, surviving a year you did not expect to. Gold marks that it happened. It does not ask what the occasion was.
What size is she, and can she be resized?
Size 18, and only size 18. She is one of a kind and finished as shown.
What does A+ quality mean?
It refers to the grade of the tourmaline: strong even colour, good clarity and a well-executed cut. It is the better end of what is available in this material.
Is it true that tourmaline is electrically charged?
Yes. Tourmaline is pyroelectric and piezoelectric, meaning it develops an electrical charge when heated or placed under pressure. Dutch traders in the eighteenth century noticed the stones pulling ash from their pipes and called them aschentrekker, ash-pullers.
Is green tourmaline durable?
Green tourmaline sits around 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale, which is suitable for a ring worn regularly. Over decades of daily wear it can pick up fine surface marks, which can be repolished.
What is a black sapphire?
Sapphire in an opaque or near-opaque black, coloured by high iron and titanium content. It is genuine sapphire, the same mineral as blue, and it reads as a properly matte dark stone rather than a sparkling one. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is the toughest thing on this ring.
Why 14K gold rather than plated?
Because plating wears through and solid gold does not. A plated ring has a deadline. This one does not.
Will gold tarnish?
No. Solid gold does not tarnish the way silver does. It may pick up a soft surface patina over years of wear, which can be repolished.
Can you make me one of these?
Not this one. If you want something built specifically for you, that is what our Custom Realm is for.
