Inspiration & Story

The Agrotis infusa Moth Ring belongs to the Curiosity Cabinet collection, a world devoted to symbolic relics, preserved specimens and objects shaped by instinct rather than logic.

This ring draws its meaning from the Agrotis infusa, also known as the Bogong moth: a nocturnal traveler known for its extraordinary migratory journey. Each year, these moths cross vast landscapes guided not by sight, but by the stars and the Earth’s magnetic field. An ancient intelligence encoded in instinct. A knowledge of direction without conscious thought.

At the center of this ring rests a natural salt & pepper diamond. Its organic inclusions resemble fragments of night sky, constellations suspended in stone. Chosen for its raw, cosmic character, the diamond acts as a beacon, a point of return, again and again.

Rendered in solid 14K gold, the moth becomes a lasting symbol of guidance, memory and belonging. This is not a ring about display, but about meaning carried quietly and deliberately.

After casting, the moth and surrounding details are refined and hand‑engraved to enhance contrast, texture and depth. Every surface is finished by hand to preserve the organic, specimen‑like quality that defines the Curiosity Cabinet.
